Meet Miss Arizona Volunteer 2027
A proud native of the small mining community of Miami, Arizona, Sorrin Garcia is a passionate advocate for health, wellness, education, and community service. At 21 years old, she brings an impressive combination of academic achievement, leadership, and volunteerism to her role as Miss Arizona Volunteer 2027.
Sorrin is pursuing her Master of Science in Athletic Training at Northern Arizona University, with an anticipated graduation in Spring 2027. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology with a minor in Coaching from Western New Mexico University in 2025. Her professional goal is to become an athletic trainer for a professional sports team while creating greater visibility and opportunities for women in sports. Her experience includes working with the ASU Sports Medicine team and Western New Mexico University's football program.
A Heart for Service
A 15-year volunteer with The Salvation Army, Sorrin believes that meaningful change begins with helping others. She co-founded Volunteen Opportunity to encourage young people to become involved in community service.
Her S.E.R.V.E. Initiative, F.E.E.L. Better Than Yesterday, empowers individuals to improve their physical and mental well-being through four principles: Find a Cause, Exercise, Eat Right, and Let Someone Know.
Over five years, Sorrin's initiative has reached more than 1,500 students, provided 3,320 hours of free classes, and helped raise $430,000. Her outreach includes senior fitness classes, school presentations, volunteer opportunities, and her published nutrition book, Delicious Yet Nutritious.
Beyond the Crown
An accomplished dancer, Sorrin trained in the School of Ballet Arizona Professional Program and performed the role of Clara in Ballet Arizona's The Nutcracker. She also served as captain of the Western New Mexico University Pom Line. Her dedication to education has earned her $67,000 in scholarships.
As Miss Arizona Volunteer 2027, Sorrin hopes to inspire young people, particularly those from rural communities, to recognize their potential and discover the power of service. She is committed to expanding her F.E.E.L. Better Than Yesterday initiative and strengthening community partnerships throughout Arizona.
In June 2027, Sorrin will proudly represent Arizona at the Miss Volunteer America national competition in Jackson, Tennessee.
For Sorrin, the crown is more than a title; it is an opportunity to lead with purpose, serve with compassion, and inspire others to F.E.E.L. Better Than Yesterday.
